Red Hawks and Fighting Bison to Square Off in CCBLL Morrow Cup Finals

The Colorado Collegiate Box Lacrosse League (CCBLL) semifinals were played on Friday night as the final four teams were all competing for a spot in the Morrow Cup Finals. The Fighting Bison and the Red Hawks would both prevail as they got wins in overtime to advance.

Fighting Bison 14 vs Bighorns 13

This game was pretty close the whole game as both teams would go back and fourth trading goals. The largest lead that we would see was multiple two goal by the Bighorns. The Fighting Bison would be down 13-11 with 2:45 in the third period after a Bighorns goal by way of Chad Kreuzer. the Fighting Bison would comeback as Nate Marano would score two goals in the final .30 seconds of the game to tie it at 13 all and send it to overtime. Marano would cap off his performance with the game winning goal for the Fighting Bison to send them to the Morrow Cup Finals.

Red Hawks 11 vs Gold Miners 10

The second semifinal game was just as great as the first one. The game was tied at the end of the first period, 4-4. The Red Hawks would have a huge second period in which they would start with a three goal run to make it 7-4. The Gold Miners would start to mount a comeback that would have them leading 8-7 heading into the third period. The fourth quarter was very tight as teams seemed to just be trading goals back and fourth. Caleb Rueth would score for the Gold Miners and tie it all up at 10 late in the third. This game need overtime as it would be a 10-10 game through three periods. Brian Hancock would get game game winning goal to send the Red Hawks to the Morrow Cup Finals.

Game 1: Sunday, July 30th – 7PM MT
Game 2: Monday, July 31st – 7PM MT
Game 3: Tuesday, August 1st – 7PM MT (If Necessary)
