In Week 14 we saw yet again some great lacrosse on display as teams finally had their full roasters back from the World Championships. Week 14 was also very important as we saw the playoff picture start to look more clear and take form.

Ohio Machine 12 vs Florida Launch 13

This was a tight game the whole way but the Launch would be able to hang on and edge the Machine. The Launch would be lead by Kieran McArdle who put up four goals and four assist in the win. Dylan Molloy and Ryan Drenner also had big games each netting a hat trick. In cage for the Lunch Austin Kaut was stellar. Kaut would have 27 saves off of 37 shots, 9 saves where just in the fourth quarter.
The Machine played well as they lead at the end of the first but couldn’t hold on to the lead for the win. The Ohio offense was lead by Bryce Wasserman and Davey Emala. Wasserman would have a hat trick and Emala would put up two goals.

Atlanta Blaze 12 vs Chesapeake 11

The Blaze came out hot in their new all orange uniforms that are easily the best in the MLL and got their first franchise win over the Chesapeake Bayhawks. I don’t know if it was the fresh swag that helped the Blaze get the win or not, but we can say it was.
Atlanta was lead on offense by Kevin Rice, Christian Cuccinello, Sergio Salcido, and Connor Kelly. Rice would put up three goals and Cuccinello, Salcido, and Kelly would each put up two. In cage for Atlanta Adam Ghitelman would have 11 saves off of 21 shots faced. Kyle McClancey was also a big force on the offensive end of the field for Atlanta.
Chesapeake would see Lyle Thompson finally suit up for the first time this season after injuries and the World Championships. Thompson would have a big day in his 2018 MLL debut as he produced a hat trick. Josh Byrne and Matt Abbott also had big days as Byrne had three goals and Abbott had two. Niko Amato had a decent day in cage as he had 17 saves off of 28 shots.

Boston Cannons 14 vs Charlotte Hounds 7

To say this result was unexpected is an understatement. The Cannons dominated the Hounds and this loss could knock Charlotte out of a playoff spot. This was Charlotte’s last regular season game. Boston finally looked good, but it took them until week 14 to do it. Boston is already out of a playoff spot so this game didn’t mean much to them, except bragging rights.
After being down 1-0 to end the first Boston’s offense exploded and they never looked back. Boston goalie Nick Morroco was a driving force in this win with 21 saves off of 27 shots on cage. On the offensive end for Boston Kyle Jackson, James Pannell, and Challen Rogers all had big games. Jackson and Pannell would each have a hat trick while Rogers had two goals.
Charlotte would be lead on offense by John Crawley, Dylan Maltz, and Mike Chanenchuk. Crawley lead the team with two goals as Maltz and Chanenchuk each had two goals a piece. In cage for Charlotte Pierece Bassett started the game but was pulled for Charlie Cipirano who had 9 saves off of 19 shots on goal.

Florida Launch 13 vs Atlanta Blaze 16

This was maybe the game of the week as it was a great one despite a lighting delay that lasted over and hour in the third quarter. That still didn’t seem to slow the guys down at all when they cam back out on the field.
With this win Atlanta is one win away from making the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. The Blaze were lead Daniel Eipp who had four goals to help secure the victory for the Blaze. Christian Cuccienllo and Scott Ratliff also had big games. Cuccinello had three goals along with defender Scott Ratliff who had two goals. Adam Ghitelman had 15 saves off of 28 shots on cage.
Florida’s offense was lead by Kieran McCardle, Connor Buczek, and Brian Cole. Each McCardle, Buczek, and Cole had a hat trick in the loss. In cage for the Launch Austin Kaut played great again as he had 16 saves off of 32 shots on cage.

Chesapeake Bayhawks 13 vs Denver Outlaws 11

The Bayhawks were able to clinch the second playoff spot with this win over the Outlaws on Saturday. They would use a hot start on offense to help them stay in the lead and secure the win. Ryan Tucker, Steele, Stanwick, and Josh Byrne would make the biggest impact for the Bayhawks on offense. Each of Stanwick, Tucker, and Byrne would have two goals a piece. Myles Jones also made contributions as well. In cage Niko Amato would have 11 saves off of 21 shots on cage.
For the Outlaws they would see some big offensive contributions from Eric Law, Romar Dennis, and Kylor Bellistri. Law would have three goals as Dennis and Bellistri each put up two. In cage for Denver Dillon Ward would have 12 saves off of 23 shots on cage.

Dallas Rattlers 12 vs New York Lizards 13

The New York Lizards got a big win in Dallas on Sunday that pushed them into a three way tie for third place with Atlanta and Denver. The Lizards would mount a big comeback to take the lead in the second half and secure the win. The Lizards offense would be lead by Rob Pannell who had a hat trick. Joe Tinney also played well as he had the game winning goal. In cage Drew Adams would have 12 saves off of 24 shots on cage.
Dallas started off hot but their lead dried up in the second half as New York started to comeback. Ty Thompson and Ryan McNamara would lead the Rattlers on offense. Thompson would have four goals and McNamara would have two. In cage John Galloway had 9 saves off of 22 shots on cage.
