It was a ones-sided affair on Saturday as Peterborough dominated Maple Ridge to get the 10-1 win and go up 2-0 in the Mann Cup. Maple Ridge would score the opening goal of the game and then that was it as Peterborough dominated the rest of the way. There were multiple opportunities for Maple Ridge to get back in the game but they just couldn’t get it done as the Peterborough defense prevailed behind goalie Matt Vinc.
Things would start to get a little chippy near the end of the second and that was just the start. With Peterborough holding an 8-1 lead entering the third things would get even more chippy as we saw 21 penalties in the third and Maple Ridge would even have a few guys ejected. Peterborough goes up 2-0 in the Mann Cup after the dominating performance.
Mike Mallory scored the lone goal for Maple Ridge off an assist from Dan Taylor. In goal for Maple Ridge Frank Scigliano had 51 saves off 61 shots. For Peterborough Holden Cattoni led the way with 4 points (3G,1A). Matt Vinc had 30 saves off of 31 shots in goal for Peterborough.
Game three of the Mann Cup will take place on Monday night at 8PM ET. As always you can watch that game via Lacrosse TV.
