Syracuse has lost yet another recruit as Josh Zawada, a 4-star and the number 37 ranked player in the class of 2019 according to Inside Lacrosse, has flipped from Syracuse to Michigan. The four star attackman had been committed to the Orange for nearly two years.
The Hill Academy (ON) attackman and North Carolina native has a style of play that is heavily influenced by box as he plays for the Okotoks Jr. A Raiders in Alberta. His stick skills, shooting, and inside finishing are fantastic. He can dodge, shoot, and make plays comfortably from almost anywhere on the field. His speed, athleticism, and overall lacrosse IQ make him a dominate threat for pretty much any defense he faces.
Zawada was the MVP of the GEICO High School Nationals as he helped the Hill Academy win back-to-back championships while putting on a show. Zawada is an electric player and will fit nicely into that Michigan offense as head coach Kevin Conry continues to build Michigan into a premiere program.
Michigan now has 15 commits in the 2019 recruiting class. Zawada is the fourth 4-star prospect to commit to the Wolverines. In this 2019 recruiting class Michigan has four attackmen, five midfielders, three defensemen, and one faceoff man, goalie, and long stick midfielder.
