McDonogh (MD)/Crabs Lacrosse junior defenseman Jackson Bonitz is the latest top 2020 prospect to announce his commitment. Bonitz, who is rated as a 4-star and ranked as the 49th 2020 prospect by Inside Lacrosse, has committed to Navy after decommiting from Penn State back on September 14th. Bonitz’s commitment to Navy was announced on December 30th.
A multi-sport athlete Bonitz is also a standout in football as a linebacker for McDonogh and he also wrestles. Back in November Bonitz told Lacrosse Bucket “I thought about playing football in college but then decided to stick with Lacrosse.”
Bonitz is a big aggressive defender that knows how to get on the offensive players hip and poke the ball loose, disrupt a shot, or pass. He also has the skillset, endurance, and speed to be a long stick midfielder (LSM) with his stick work and being able to go to work in transition. Boniz should fit in with Navy’s style of play ver well.
Bonitz is the thirteenth overall recruit and to announce his commitment to Navy in the 2020 class and the fifth ja4-star. At Navy Bonitz will join his fellow McDonogh teammate in midfielder Dane Swanson who is a rated as a 5-star and ranked as the number 12 prospect in the 2020 class by Inside Lacrosse.
