The high school season in the Bluegrass is right around the corner with games starting next week for some, and the bulk of teams starting in about two weeks.
Coming into this season there are a few new teams across the state, and in each respective league. The new blood is great for the sport and does create more competition across the landscape. Even with some new competition in the mix the cream always rises to the top and the blue bloods continue to reign supreme.
Coming in at the top five spots in the preseason are St. Xavier, Trinity, Lexington Catholic, South Oldham, and Henry Clay. All five of these teams were in the semifinals and or championship game of their respective league last season.
