It’s the first full Friday lacrosse action of the year as there are 8 teams and 4 games set on the schedule for today. Will we see another Friday night upset to start the weekend like last week in the Carrier Dome when Colgate beat Syracuse?

Marquee Games

Towson (1-0) @ Mount St. Mary’s (0-1)

Coming off of a huge win against Johns Hopkins the Towson Tigers are looking to get their second win of the season on the road at Mount St. Mary’s. The Tigers will be looking to their offense led by Brendan Sunday, Brody Mclean, and Alex Woodall to provide the same kind of spark as they did last week against Hopkins. Mount St. Mary’s is coming off of an 11-8 loss against Delaware. The Mountaineers have been led by midfielder Jack Mangan early on this season.

This game may be leaning in the Tigers favor, very heavily, but Mount St. Mary’s could put up a fight. They will need to stop the Tigers offense while Towson will need to try and subdue any kind of momentum that the Mountaineers could possibly have to try and pull off an upset.

UMBC (0-0) @ Navy (1-0)

Looking at the Friday schedule this one catches many as the most interesting matchup of the day. The Midshipmen and Retrievers are both trying to prove their worth this season. Navy is coming off of a pretty big win over Vermont where midfielder Greyson Torain exploded for 6 points (5G,1A). Navy is looking good on both ends and looks to keep it going here against UMBC. UMBC is coming into their first game of the year and looking to start the season off strong.

With a strong defense the Retrievers will need to use that if they want to be able to take down a Navy team that may be better than many perceive them to be. If both teams can get going like we all know they can this could be a very interesting game.
