Saturday Roundup: Air Spencer! Yale Takes Down Penn State, Notre Dame and High Point Go Down

It was pegged as one of the biggest Saturday’s of this very young season, and it did not disappoint. While most of the great games were all on at the same time (Can we fix that?) there were some great performances, upsets, and surprises, to say the last.

Pat Spencer practically secured the Tewarraton on this one “dunk” play in Loyola’s dominating win over Rutgers.

Johns Hopkins go their firs win of the season over North Carolina on the road. The conditions of the field made many raise their eyebrows as it was literally a mud pit by the end of the game, if it wasn’t already. 

Star-studded faceoff man TD Ierlan helped lead Yale to victory over a powerful Penn State squad. 

Freshman goalie Patrick Berkinshaw made 24 saves in his first start to help Virginia to an overtime victory at Princeton.

Maryland took down in-state rival Navy by a score of 14-9 to stay undefeated and move to 5-0.

Richmond is the latest SoCon team to unleash their wrath on an ACC opponent as they took down Notre Dame.

St. John’s was able to hold on and complete the upset as they took down #11 High Point on the road. 

Detroit Mercy got a big win as they went on the road and took down Marquette in the bubble.
