The High school season in Kentucky really got underway on Friday night as six games graced the Friday night calendar. Multiple games went down in both Louisville and Lexington.
I was out and about tonight, catching two game in what was the first Saturday of the 2019 season here in the Bluegrass.
Great first night of HS Lacrosse. Started out at Trinity with their game against Montgomery Bell and finished the night over at CAL as they avoided a comeback by Male. A lot of great guys doing great things. pic.twitter.com/9GApFlFvTP

Montgomery Bell (TN) 12, Trinity 9
Trinity opened up their season with a loss against Montgomery Bell (TN). It was back-and-forth early on as the 1st quarter ended with it all tied up at 4. In the second quarter the Montgomery Bell offense tore up the Trinity defense as they got out to a 7-5 lead at the half, the Big Red only took nine shots in the first half as well. After a strong third Montgomery Bell held an 11-5 lead over the Shamrocks. Trinity was able to finally get their offense going in the fourth, but couldn’t complete the comeback as they drop their home and season opener.

Christian Academy 14, Male 10
After a slow defensive first quarter things were tied at 1-1. Christian Academy really heated up early on in the second quarter, which helped them get out to a 6-3 halftime lead. Male did get some energy at the end of the half. Christian Academy went 5-0 in the third as they were just dusting Male. Down 11-3 at the start of the fourth, the Bulldogs started barking again late in the game. A nine-goal run gave Male a ton of energy as they were getting looks all over the place, and converting. Christian Academy was able to hold on for the 14-10 win.
Note: Male senior A/M Seiver Utsey went down in the second quarter and didn’t return. The Transylvania commit was seen leaving stadium shortly after halftime, limping with assistance.
