KY High School Saturday Roundup: Trinity Falters Against Pope (Ga.), Woodford County Moves to 2-0

Week one of the high school season in Kentucky finished up on Saturday as we saw ten games grace the calendar. Many games were in-state contest and we saw some battles between throughout the day. 

Pope (Ga.) 10, Trinity 6

The Shamrocks drop to 0-2 after a tough loss to Pope (Ga.) on Saturday afternoon. After being down 4-1 at the half the Shamrocks made a run to make it 6-5. A late game run by Pope proved to be the deciding factor as they defeated the Shamrocks 10-6.

Lexington Catholic 13, Dunbar 4

Lexington Catholic got their 2019 campaign off on a high not with a win over Dunbar, in dominating fashion.

Madison County LC 8, Bowling Green 7

It was a close one down in Bowling Green as the Madison County Mavericks pulled out the one-goal win over the Purples. 

North Oldham 12, Tates Creek 10

The Mustangs got their 2019 campaign off to a good start as they defeated the Commodores on the road in Lexington. 

Woodford County 8, Bluegrass Bulldogs 3

The Yellow Jackets move to 2-0 as they defeated the Bluegrass Bulldogs in their first game in program history. 

Central Hardin 16, Atherton 1

It was a dominating performance by Central Hardin as they downed Atherton to start kickoff their 2019 season. 

Henry Clay 26, Lafayette 0

It was a dominating performance from the Blue Devils, downing the Generals 26-0.

Atherton 10, North Hardin 6

The Atherton rebels got their first win of the season over North Hardin. This was one of Atherton’s two games on Saturday.
