It was an exciting Friday night of high school lacrosse across the Commonwealth as six games graced the calendar. We had some big one’s tonight as two Southern Powerhouses met, a first was had, and a rivalry game was played.
Woodford County 9, Atherton 3
The Yellow Jackets took down the Rebels 9-3 at home on Friday. Woodford Count got out to a 5-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and they never looked back. With Woodford County holding a 6-1 lead at the half, Atherton was able to finally able to get some stuff going in the third, scoring 2 goals. The game was clearly out of reach as Woodford County walked away 9-3 victors.
Bowling Green 10, South Warren 5
In the Battle for Bowling Green the Purples doubled up the Spartans for a 10-5 win. With this win Bowling Green moves to a series record 3-0.
Male 4, KCD 3 – Overtime
With the game tied at 1 heading into the half, this was a slow defensive battle. Each squad scored one goal in the third to make it a 2-2 game heading into the fourth. Overtime was needed as these two squads found themselves tied at 3 to end the fourth. Michael Schroll scored the game winner in OT for Male. This win was the first for the Bulldogs in the Chad Toliver era.
Note: Senior A/M Seiver Utsey is still out with an injury for Male.
St. Xavier 9, McCallie (TN) 6
