KY High School Weekend Roundup: Central Hardin Downs Lafayette, Henry Clay Dust West Virginia Power

There was a lot of high school lacrosse action in the Bluegrass this weekend with nine games overall, eight on Saturday and one on Sunday. 

Saturday, March 9th

Fishers (Ind.) 13, Dunbar 2

The Bulldogs dropped to 0-2 on Saturday as they were one again blown out, this time by Fishers who came down South from the Hoosier State for the weekend. 

Henry Clay 18, George Washington (W.Va.) 4

In a blowout win the Blue Devils defeated West Virginia power George Washington. The scoring started early as Henry Clay got out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back as they dominated all game long. This game was part of the Douglass Invitational held at Fredrick Douglass.

Tates Creek 18, Elizabethtown 5

After a tight first quarter Tates Creek held just a two-goal 5-3 lead over E-Town. After that it was all Tates Creek. The Commodores poured it on the Panthers, outscoring them 13-2 in the final three quarters of play. 

Central Hardin 16, Lafayette 6

The Bruins turned on the jets after getting out to just a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. It strong second quarter from Central Hardin, scoring 4 goals, that pretty much secured this one. The Bruins went on to outscore the Generals 10-4 in the second half to really put this one in the books.

Fredrick Douglass 10, Eastern 9

In a Louisville vs Lexington Battle the Broncos took down the Eagles by a skim 10-9 margin. This game was part of the Douglass that was held at Fredrick Douglass on Saturday.

Covington Cath vs Bluegrass Bulldogs

Sunday, March 10th

Culver (Ind.) 19, St. Xavier 5

In the lone Sunday game St. Xavier hosted the number 2 team in the country in Culver. The Tigers took the loss as expected. Culver flexed their muscles and absolutely burned St. Xavier from the opening whistle.

Trinity will play Culver at their place on April 27th.
