The week got kicked off with the biggest Monday of the season thus far. With five games on the docket we had a really good contest in an inter-state and inter-regional battle, as well as a few blowouts.

Trinity 10, St. Rita (IL) 9

However you want to spin it, Midwest vs South or Kentucky vs Illinois, it was a battle as St. Rita (Ill.) came down to Louisville and faced Trinity on Monday night. This game got started off quick with both teams scoring just seconds after each other in the first few minutes of the game. St. Rita went on a 3-goal run to end the first with a 4-2 lead over the Shamrocks. The second started with a lot of play in the middle of the field and not so many goals, but trinity soon woke up. Gavin Noland and Jacob Rayome caught fire, combining for five goals to help give Trinity a 7-4 lead at the half. After an early Trinity goal to start the third St. Rita answered with two straight to cut the Trinity lead to 9-6 at the end of the third. The Mustangs run continued with three more goal to start the fourth quarter, tying it up at 9. With Trinity 2 men-up Will Redmen put in the game winner for the Rocks with 2:45 left on the clock. The Shamrocks defense held off the Mustangs for the win.

Trinity Scorers: Gavin Noland (4G), Jacob Rayome (3G), Jacob Rogers (1G), Will Redmen (1G)

After getting out to a 4-1 lead at the end of the first the Blue Devils never looked back. They added on six goals in the second to go up 10-2 at the half and kept pouring it on in the third and fourth to take the 18-2 win. Colten Reynolds led Henry Clay with 5 goals in the win.

Oldham County 16, Atherton 4

In their first contest against a KSLL opponent as a member of the KSLL, Atherton got demolished by Oldham County. The Colonels hung 16 on the Rebels in a dominating home win.

Collins 19, Lafayette 3

The Titans opened their 2019 season up with a blowout win over Lafayette. The Generals drop to 0-3 with this loss, their worst “known” start in program history.

Lexington Catholic 13, Covington Catholic 5

It was a blowout as the Knights downed the Colonels in a 13-5 win on Monday night.
