The Premier Lacrosse League has announced that week six of the inaugural 2019 PLL season will be played in Washington, D.C. at Audi Field. The dates for the PLL’s stop in D.C. will be Saturday, July 6th and Sunday, July 7th. There will be three games played in Washington, D.C. at Audi Field during this week six stop.
Washington, D.C. is the sixth city that the PLL has announced as stops for the 2019 season. The Washington, D.C. joins Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Baltimore, and Boston as host cities for the 2019 inaugural PLL season.
Audi Field will play host to the PLL during their stop in July. D.C. United of Major League Soccer are the primary tenants of the stadium. Audi Field is a very new stadium as they just opened in July of 2018. It seats 20,000 and is located in southwest D.C.
Going to Washington, D.C. gives the PLL another access point to one of the “traditional” hotbeds of lacrosse in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area. With a lot of lacrosse fans in the DMV the PLL coming to town just adds to the great lacrosse scene already in the area.
