The lighter schedule started this weekend as there were very few games with spring break week looming. While there weren’t many games there were a few good ones between out-of-state opponents.

St. Xavier played two out-of-state teams this weekend, while South Oldham and Christian Academy also matched up with teams from beyond the borders of the commonwealth.

Friday, March 29th

St. Xavier 10, New Trier (Ill.) 5

After a slower start the Tigers took the reigns in the second quarter and ran away with this one. New Trier was making bad mistakes all over the field and St. Xavier took full advantage. St. Xavier was able to pull out this win behind a 17 save performance from senior goalie Joe Storner (Baldwin-Wallace). Storner was named the Laxrecords.com player of the game by Lax Records contributor Michael Ward. Hillis Burns also had 5 goals in the win as well.

Westerville Central (Ohio) 10, Christian Academy 4

It was another disappointing performance for the Centurions as they took a tough 10-4 loss against Westerville Central on Friday night. It seemed as if Christian Academy couldn’t get anything going, and Westerville Central ran away with it.

New Albany (Ohio) 11, South Oldham 4

The Dragons took the 11-4 loss against a very good New Albany team. The Dragons just couldn’t get much going for them in this one as they drop to 4-4 on the season thus far.

St. Francis de Sales (Ohio) 10, Collegiate 9 – 2OT

Collegiate took their first loss of the season in double overtime on Friday night. It was a close one as two overtimes were needed, and the Knights came out on top over the Titans in this one.

Saturday, March 30th

Dixie Heights 11, Bluegrass Bulldogs 5

The Colonels move to 3-4 on the season after securing their third straight win over the Bluegrass Bulldogs on Saturday. The Bluegrass Bulldogs are still searching for their first win of the season after this defeat.

St. Xavier 12, New Albany (Ohio) 8

St. Xavier had to fight a little more to get this one as they handed New Albany their first loss of the year. The Tigers had a strong fourth quarter to secure the win after trailing 5-6 at the end of the third.
