It’s a slow midweek slate of games on the DI side this week with only five games, and all of them coming on Tuesday. The biggest game of the week is obviously Hobart-Syracuse, or better known as the Kraus-Simmons Trophy game. We will also see Cleveland State play Canisius at home which should be an interesting as well. So while we don’t have many midweek games this week, at least there are a few good ones and potential good ones on the docket.
Syracuse @ Hobart
The Syracuse Orange travel to Geneva, NY to take on the Hobart Statesman. This New York rivalry has a little more meaning to it as these two teams play for the Kraus-Simmons trophy each year. This is the 34th year they have played for the trophy, but the rivalry goes back further than that.
This years matchup is a little more interesting than in years past as Hobart may actually have a chance to take down Syracuse, or at least legitly hang in with them. The Orange come into this game after a loss at Notre Dame in which they failed in second half comeback that saw Jamie Trimboli and Bradley Voigt take over. Hobart is on a six game winning streak at they look to keep that alive. Last game they devoured St. Bonaventure 18-8 behind another impressive performance from Eric Holden.
Canisius @ Cleveland State
The Golden Griffins will travel to take the Vikings in a Tuesday night contest. Both teams come into this game after what has been a bumpy season for both thus far. Canisius is coming off of a 12-2 win over Monmouth, while Cleveland State is coming off of two tough losses to North Carolina and Penn State. Both teams have had their share of success over the past month or so, which should make this an interesting one for sure.
