Saturday Roundup: Virginia Clinches Top Spot In The ACC Tourney, Loyola Devours Lehigh

Another exciting Saturday of college lacrosse officially in the books. It was a good day of lacrosse as we had games all day long. We saw Loyola absolutely devour Lehigh in a Patriot League contest. We then saw Duke beat Notre Dame to secure their first conference win of the season, Virginia edge North Carolina, Johns Hopkins take down Rutgers, and more. 

Notable Results

Loyola 15, Lehigh 9

Behind an 11 point performance from Pat Spencer the Loyola Greyhounds devoured the Lehigh Mountain Hawks in a battle between rivals and top teams in the Patriot League.

High Point 13, Air Force 9

It was a battle between SoCon heavyweights as these two took the field on Saturday. The Panthers used a big first half performance to help secure the win over the Falcons. Asher Nolting put up 9 points (3G,6A) in the High Point win. 

Duke 14, Notre Dame 8

After being down 3-1 at the end of the first Duke woke up and dominated the rest of the way. The Blue Devils used a few huge runs to help take down the Irish. Connor Morin led Duke with 6 points (4G,2A) in the win.

Boston U. 15, Army 13

It was a close one as the Terriers were able to unleash a to of scoring depth to help take down the Black Knights. Jake Cates led the way for the Terriers with 6 points (4G,2A). 

Virginia 11, North Carolina 10

The Virginia Cavaliers clinched the top seed in the ACC tournament as they were able to outlast North Carolina. Virginia’s defense was able to overcome a deep North Carolina offense to help secure the win. Virginia was led by Michael Kraus with 6 points (5G,1A).

Sacred Heart 11, Bryant 8

In an NEC battle Sacred Heart was able to defeat Bryant for the first time in school history. The series now stands at 1-12 in favor of Bryant.

Villanova 12, Denver 11

The Wildcats went out west and took down Big East foe Denver. It was a close one the whole way, but Villanova was able to come out on top. Keegan Khan led the way for the Wildcats with 5 points (3G,2A) in the win.
