The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) has announced that they will make a stop in Denver, Colorado on July 27-28. Dick’s Sporting Goods Park will play host to the PLL during their stop in Denver. This announcement comes just one day after the PLL announced their stop in Columbus for the first round of the playoffs.
Denver is the tenth city that the PLL has announced they will visit during their inaugural 2019 season. Denver joins Boston, New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta, Washington, D.C, and Los Angeles, and San Jose, and Columbus as host cities for the 2019 PLL season.
Dick’s Sporting Goods Park will be the host venue for the PLL during their stop in Denver. The stadium is home to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer and hosted the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championships. The fact that they have hosted a lacrosse event in the past makes this venue an even better choice.
Going to Denver is obviously a smart move for the league. Denver has been dubbed the “Lacrosse Capital of The West” because of their growing and buzzing lacrosse scene. With the Denver Pioneers (NCAA), Colorado Mammoth (NLL), and Denver Outlaws (MLL) all in Denver, there is a healthy fan base already in Denver and Colorado as a whole.
