Matt Beer Signs Multi-Year Extension With Vancouver

Vancouver Warriors defenseman Matt Beers has signed a multi-year contract extension to stay with the Warriors. Currently in his ninth season in the NLL, Beers has spent his whole career with the Vancouver franchise, being drafted 13th overall in 2009 when they were the Washington Stealth. 

Beers – named a captain this season – has been a crucial piece of the Vancouver defense throughout his career. He currently has 156 caused turnovers and 733 loose balls on his career. He also has 91 career points (21G/75A). 

“Matt is the epitome of what we are looking for in our players.  He works hard on and off the floor as well as in the community and is a solid citizen with a wonderful family.  I look forward to having Matt Beers as our Captain long term and helping lead our team for years to come.”, said Warriors General Manager Dan Richardson. 

This season Beers sits near the top is defensive statistic categories for the Warriors, having 19 caused turnovers scooping up 119 loose balls. He also has 11 points (2G/9A) this season as well. 

Vancouver is currently sitting last in the West with a 5-11 record, and on the verge of missing or making the playoffs.
