Vancouver Warriors defenseman Matt Beers has signed a multi-year contract extension to stay with the Warriors. Currently in his ninth season in the NLL, Beers has spent his whole career with the Vancouver franchise, being drafted 13th overall in 2009 when they were the Washington Stealth.
Beers – named a captain this season – has been a crucial piece of the Vancouver defense throughout his career. He currently has 156 caused turnovers and 733 loose balls on his career. He also has 91 career points (21G/75A).

I look forward to having Matt Beers as our Captain long term and helping lead our team for years to come.”, said Warriors General Manager Dan Richardson.

Vancouver is currently sitting last in the West with a 5-11 record, and on the verge of missing or making the playoffs.
