It was a pretty good midweek slate of game across the Bluegrass this week as we saw multiple marquee scores. Of those marquee scores, none was bigger than Henry Clay beating Lexington Catholic in a rematch of the 2018 KLA State Championship game. We also saw Christian Academy get a big win, among other results this week.
Tuesday, April 16th
Christian Academy 9, South Oldham 8 – Overtime
The Centurions secured a big win at home on Tuesday, taking down the Dragons of South Oldham in overtime. While South Oldham was ahead most of the game, Christian Academy was always lurking in the shadows. Christian Academy tied it up at 8 early in the fourth and their defense stepped up big to stop a South Oldham offense that had been anything but easy on them all night. As the game went into overtime, Christian Academy got the opening faceoff and got a few shots off, all going wide or getting stopped. South Oldham turned the ball over in transition and Christian Academy went down and called a timeout. Coming out of the timeout, Nate Dobbs got the ball, swept across the top, took a few bumps, and somehow got the shot off to win the game.
