Over the past few days, we have seen two played announce their commitment to play lacrosse at DI schools. Both of those commitments happened to have come from players out of Georgia. Patrick Deans from Lambert (Ga.) and Khory Reid from Hillgrove (Ga.) both announced their commitments over the past week.
2020 Lambert (Ga.) defenseman Patrick Deans announced his commitment to Johns Hopkins earlier this week. The 6-foot-2, 185 pound Deans is a dual-sport athlete, playing football as well. The athletic defenseman has good footwork, throws accurate checks, and is a fiery on-ball defender.
He is able to put the ball on the ground and can clear the ball very effectively. Deans has the speed and stick skills to take the ball down to the offensive zone himself if needed. In Deans draws similar comparisons to former Johns Hopkins defenseman Nick Fields.
Hillgrove (Ga.) 2020 midfielder Khory Reid announced his commitment to Mercer over the past week as well. The midfielder is a dual-sport athlete playing football at Hillgrove (Ga.) as well. Reid is a big outside shooter who is good dodging from up top and shooting on the run. he can also get it done inside and off of the catch as well.
Reid is also a great feeder being able to make crisp passes, sometimes in difficult situations. Reid draws comparisons between Sergio Perkovic with his shooting and Jimmy Bitter with his quickness and ability to dodge and feed.
