The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) has announced that they will be making a stop in Albany, New York on August 24th-25th. This is the third stop for the PLL in the state of New York as they will also visit New York City twice in the 2019 season as well.
Albany is the twelfth city that the PLL has announced they will visit during their inaugural 2019 season. Albany joins Boston, New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta, Washington, D.C, and Los Angeles, and San Jose, Columbus, Denver, and Hamilton as host cities for the 2019 PLL season.
Tom & Mary Casey stadium will play host to the PLL during their stop in Albany. The stadium is home to the Albany Great Danes. The Danes have drawn a ton of fans to the stadium over the past few years, including a nearly sold out first round NCAA tournament game in 2017.
Lacrosse fans will show up for this and it’s great to see pro field lacrosse come back to upstate New York. With the are rooted in lacrosse history and tradidtion, I can see this being maybe one of the best attended stops this season. It was a very smart idea for the PLL to head to Albany.
