The PLL trade window opened at 4PM ET on Monday, June 17th and will close at 4PM ET on July 22nd. According to the league, “The Premier Lacrosse League trade windows give PLL Lacrosse Clubs the chance to trade players and future draft picks during a 5-week window of the regular season, as well as an offseason trading period.”
It only took about four hours for the first trade in PLL history to be made. Whipsnakes LC has traded attackman Jules Heningburg to Redwoods LC for defenseman Alec Tullett and a fourth round pick in the 2020 PLL collegiate draft.
This trade comes as a surprise to many since Heningburg had been a pretty big piece of that Whipsnakes offense, helping them to a 3-0 start. Heningburg tallied 5 points (3G,2A) during his three games with Whipsnakes, ranking as one of their top five scorers.
Heningburg now joins an offensive unit with the likes of Matt Kavanagh and Clarke Petterson on attack with guys like Joe Walters and others at the midfield. Heningburg should be able to fit right into the Redwoods fiery offensive system.
While Whipsnakes do get a draft pick that they can use to grab a future asset, Tullett hasn’t even suited up for a single PLL game yet. He can help out their defense and bring in some more depth if they do put him on the active roster.
