According to a report from Ty Xanders of Inside Lacrosse, Loyola rising sophomore midfielder Chase Scanlan has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The Irving, N.Y. native and IMG Academy (Fla.) grad was very highly touted coming in as a freshman and lived up to the hype. Scanlan tallied 58 points (43G,15A) as a freshman while helping led the Greyhounds to an NCAA quarterfinal appearance. Scanlan was a key part of the Greyhounds offense, ranking third in points.
Named a second team USILA All-American, Scanlan was expected to be an even bigger part of the Greyhounds in 2020 with Tewaaraton winner Pat Spencer graduated. While entering the Transfer Portal doesn’t mean he is gone for sure Scanlan is the one of the biggest offensive star to enter the portal this offseason along with former Boston U. attackman Chris Gray.
Scanlan also played with the Iroquois Nationals at the World Championships in Israel last summer and helped the Coquitlam Adanacs win their a Minto Cup in 2018 as well.
This summer Scanlan is playing Junior A in Ontario with the Six Nations Arrows, the same team that Albany star Tehoka Nanticoke plays for.
