As first reported by Ty Xanders of Inside Lacrosse, former Boston U. attackman Chris Gray will be transferring to North Carolina. The rising junior put his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal last month and spent last week taking visits.
Gray ended the 2019 season ranked third in points with 111 points (49G,62A), a Patriot League record. The star-studded attackman was named a second team USILA All-American following his stellar sophomore campaign, helping to lead the Terriers to the Patriot League tournament appearance.
During his two years at Boston U. Gray was the focal point of the Terriers offense, helping them reach the Patriot League tournament in 2018 and 2019. Gray will be a day one starter at North Carolina, joining forces with a young offense core headlined by rising sophomore attackman Nicky Solomon.
The Tar Heels won the NCAA championship in 2016, but have failed to make the NCAA tournament ever since. With Gray now being inserted into that lineup their stock rises immediately and makes them major contenders in the ACC and on a national scale.
Holy cow! UNC bout to win a Natty in the next for years for sure!

Amazing inconsistency by the NCAA. Football sit out a year and I think basketball too. Lacrosse transfers and plays the next game. Seems odd…

Agree. It’s due to the whole non-revenue thing. Lacrosse transfers only have to sit out if they transfer within conference. Very stupid indeed.
