On Friday night in Atlanta Atlas LC secured their season win of the season, edging Archers LC 13-12. While it was neck and neck for the majority of the game Atlas used a big second half offensive spurt to help secure the win.

Archers LC was led by Tom Schreiber with 5 points (2G,3A) while Will Manny also had 3 goals. Marcus Holman tallied 3 points (2G,1A) as well to help lead the Archers offensive attack.

Ryan Brown led the way for Atlas LC with 3 goals. Paul Rabil, Eric Law, and Joel Tinney all tallied 3 points (2G,1A) for Atlas as well. Trevor Baptiste won the battle at the faceoff dot, going 20-for-25 on the night.

Utilizing transition early, Atlas got on the board first with Kieran McArdle putting an exclamation mark on the end of a great transition sequence. Archers then went on a two-goal run as Will Manny gave them their first lead of the game with 4:08 in the first quarter.

Heading into the second quarter with a 5-3 lead it appeared that the Archers offense was clicking on all cylinders. While Atlas started to get back into it Jack Concannon also got hot, stopping almost everything in cage to really aide the Atlas defense and help get their juices flowing on offense again.

While Archers still held a 7-5 lead heading into the half it felt like the tides had turned just a bit and Atlas had a chance to get back into it, and they did. With some major help from Trevor Baptiste at the faceoff dot the Atlas offense really woke up, especially in the midfield with guys like Paul Rabil making a huge difference.

Atlas eventually took the lead but an outside rip from Tom Schreiber with 3 seconds left in the quarter helped Archers tie things up at 10 heading into the fourth. It was very back-and-forth down the stretch with both sides continuing to answer each other.

Joel Tinney scored a huge goal for Atlas midway through the fourth to get things tied back up at 12. John Crawley turned the corner to greatness, zipping one by Adam Ghitleman to give Atlas the 13-12 lead with just under three minutes left.

While Archers had a few very good opportunities in the final few minutes of the game the Atlas defense and Jack Concannon came up huge each and every time, secure the win.

Atlas and Archers both move to 2-3 on the season after this contest. In Washington, D.C. next Saturday Atlas LC will face Whipsnakes LC while Archers LC will play Redwoods LC.
