Over the past few days the New England Black Wolves have announced the re-signing of Davey Emala, Andrew Suitor, Colton Watkinson, Nick Chaykowsky, and Mackenzie Mitchell. In addition, the Black Wolves have acquired Joel Tinney in a trade with Georgia.
On Thursday, the Black Wolves announced that defenseman Andrew Suitor and forward Davey Emala had both signed one-year deals with the club.
Suitor, a ten-year veteran, was a crucial piece of the Black Wolves defense last season. He played in all eighteen games while recording 21 caused turnovers and chasing down 84 loose balls. Suitor scored 10 points (3G/7A) as well. Emala only appeared in seven games as a rookie, tallying 13 points (7G/6A).
The Black Wolves announced the signing of transition player Colton Watkinson, defenseman Nick Chaykowsky, and defenseman Mackenzie Mitchell to two-year deals on Saturday morning.
Watkinson has show a lot of upside through his first two seasons in the league. Last season he tallied 13 points (8G/5A) while also chasing down 56 loose balls and causing 9 turnovers. Chaykowsky caused 3 turnovers and chased down 20 loos balls last season while Mitchell was top five among the team in loose balls with 80.
Also on Saturday, the Black Wolves traded a second round pick in the 2021 draft to the Georgia Swarm in exchange for forward Joel Tinney. As a rookie, Tinney only saw action in 5 game with the Swarm as he had 5 points (1G/4A). He also chased down 20 loose balls as well.
