As first reported by Inside Lacrosse, 2019 SoCon Freshman of The Year Riley Seay will be heading to Loyola. Seay entered the NCAA Transfer Portal last month following a stellar freshman season at Bellarmine.
The Charleston,S.C. native led the Knights in scoring with 38 points (29G,9A) last season. Seay’s departure from Bellarmine comes after Jim Mitchell stepped down as head coach, and Andy Whitley took over as the Knights’ next head coach.
Seay will be joining a Loyola team that went 12-5 and made it to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season.
Loyola does loose rising sophomore midfielder/attackman Chase Scanlan to transfer. In addition, the Greyhounds graduated 2019 Tewaaraton winner Pat Spencer who had been the face of the program for the past four seasons.
At Loyola, Seay will join the likes of Kevin Lindley and Aidan Olmstead on the Greyhouds attack line. They also have some impressive incoming freshman and returning players that should make an impact at both midfield and attack next season.
