Calgary Roughnecks forward Dane Dobbie has been named the NLL Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2019 season. Dobbie helped lead the Roughnecks to an NLL title, beating Buffalo 2-1 in the best of three series.
Dobbie had his best statistical year of his career in 2019 as he led the league in points with 115 (47G/68). The forward finished the year ranked second in both goals and assist, as well.
The 32-year old dominated all season long, and it began on opening night when he put up nine points (5G/4A) in the Roughnecks season opening loss at home to Vancouver. From that point on it was the Dane Dobbie show, even when Curtis Dickson came back following a contract dispute that put him out for a good portion early in the season.
Dobbie, a 12 year veteran, really put on a show this season as he was a catalyst for hat fiery Calgary offense. Doobie’s talent and leadership showed all season long, but it really came out in the NLL Finals when he helped lead the Roughnecks to their second title in franchise history. Dobbie was also named finals MVP.
