The Philadelphia Wings and New York Riptide have gotten to work on day two of the NLL Free Agency Period. The Wings have signed defenseman Ian Llord while the Riptide have signed forward Jean Luc-Chetner to a two-year deal.
Llord comes to Philadelphia after finish the 2019 season with the Colorado Mammoth. The veteran defenseman spent six full seasons in Rochester before being traded to Colorado midway through the 2019 season. Llord helped the Mammoth upset the Saskatchewan Rush in the first round of the playoffs and make a West Division Final appearance.
A Peterborough, Ontario native, Llord is a great addition to the Philadelphia offense, brining talent and experience to that end of the floor. Last season, Llord caused 11 turnovers, chased down 44 loose balls, and had one assist. The 13-year veteran has a career total of 72 points (19G/53A), 670 loose balls, and 91 caused turnovers.
Luc-Chetner was drafted by the New York Riptide in the NLL Expansion Draft last month. The forward comes to New York after playing his rookie season for the Vancouver Warriors.
As a rookie, Chetner tallied 16 points (5G/11A) in 11 appearances. The British Columbia native should be able to continue to grown and develop under head coach Regy Thorpe, in addition to playing along side guys like Kieran McArdle and others.
