Through five days of play, the round robin portion of the Founders’ Cup has concluded and medal play is on the horizon.
Saturday saw five games played to wrap up round robin play, and almost all five games were blowouts. Coquitlam defeated North Shore 18-3, Six Nations beat Manitoba 15-3, Saskatchewan beat Seneca 12-7, Six Nations beat Calgary 19-3, and Coquitlam beat Manitoba 11-5. Each team will move onto medal play tomorrow besides North Shore who finished in last place with an 0-6 record.
On Sunday, three games will be played to decide who takes home fifth place, the bronze medal, and the gold medal. Coincidentally enough, all three games will be rematches of the last three round robin games that took place on Saturday.
The Seneca WarChiefs (1-5) will face the Saskatchewan SWAT (2-4) in the Fifth Place game at 11:00am CT on Sunday while the Coquitlam Adanacs (3-2) will face the Manitoba Blizzard (3-2) in the Bronze Medal game at 2:00pm CT. In the Gold Medal game the Six Nations Rebels (6-0) will face the Calgary Shamrocks (5-1) at 5:00pm CT.
