Maryland has picked up a commitment from McDonogh (Md.)/MadLax midfielder Dante Trader. A Delaware Native, Trader recently transferred from Del Mar to McDonogh prior to the fall.
Trader is the first 2021 commitment for the Terps since the contact opened on September 1st. Inside Lacrosse has Trader rated as a five-star and ranked as the number five player in the class of 2021.
A speedy dodger, the 6-foot, 180 pound midfielder can break through a defense and get to the cage from multiple spots on the field. Mixed with his pure speed, Trader is a deadly offensive threat as both a feeder and shooter. With his high lacrosse IQ and great vision he is able to make smart and effective plays, being an impact in a multitude of ways.
Trader is a dual-sport athlete, playing football for McDonogh, as well. He is the son of assistant Salisbury football coach Dante Trader Sr.
