The Victoria Shamrocks handled the Peterborough Lakers in game one of the Mann Cup series. Victoria was able to get hot early and carried that momentum through the final horn, securing the 13-6 win to take a 1-0 series lead.

For Peterborough, Mike Poulin made 40 saves off of 52 shots for a save percentage of 77%. On the offensive end, Holden Cattoni and Mark Matthews led the way with one goal and one assist each. Also, Shawn Evans had three assists, moving himself to third all-time in Mann Cup points with 161.

Chris Boushy got things started for Victoria early in the first, but Peterborough was quick to answer with a Zach Currier goal less than a minute later. After some back-and-forth play, Victoria took the reigns, finishing the first with three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead heading into the second.

Victoria continued their run early in the second with Tyler Pace finding the back of the net just four minutes into the second. Peterborough finally ended their nearly 19-minute scoring drought with Josh Currier answering just a few minutes later.
