ADAM KITCHEN, A, TRENT
Again, Kitchen put on a show as he was a catalyst for the Excalibur’s offense as they went 1-1 in week two, moving to 3-1 on the season. Kitchen was a key figure on the offensive end in both of Trent’s games over the weekend, doing much of the heavy lifting on that end of the field.
Kitchen had eleven points in week two, tallied three points (2G/1A) in Trent’s overtime loss against McGill and had put up eight points (3G/5A) in Trent’s blowout win over Carleton.
Tanner Poole, Nipissing
Poole was one of the key figures on the Lakers’ offense last week, helping them get their second win of the season to move to 2-1. He really made his mark as a goal scorer in Nipissing’s game on Saturday.
In Nipissing’s 8-4 win over Bishop’s, Poole made his mark as the Lakers’ primary goal scorer with five goals. He also added one assist to total six points in the win.
Cody Ward, A, Western
Ward got his 2019 campaign off on a very high note, helping Western, the defending champions, to a win against Guelph. Ward really took charge as the ‘QB’ of the Mustangs’ offense, dishing out assist left and right.
The attackman put up five points (1G/4A) in Western’s season opening 14-3 win at home against Guelph.
Kurtis Woodland, M, Brock
The midfielder helped Brock kick their 2019 season off with a huge road win over Toronto. Woodland picked right back up where he left off last season, making an impact as both a goal scorer and feeder in Brock’s win.
Woodland tallied five points (2G/3A) in Brock’s 16-4 road win against Toronto.
Ryan Kent, G, Queen’s
It was the impressive play from Kent that helped Queen’s secure their first win of the season on Saturday, moving to 1-1 through two weeks of the season. Kent absolutely stood on his head against Ottawa, only allowing one goal in Queen’s 7-1 win.
While only allowing one goal is impressive enough, Queen’s was also in the penalty box multiple times in the game and Kent was still able to command the defense and keep the ball out of the net even with a shorthanded defense, at times.
