Late-Game Spark Pushes Iroquois Past USA In Semifinals
CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET
The Championship Bracket semifinals took place on Thursday, officially setting up Saturday’s championship and placement games.
In the first semifinal, Iroquois was able to beat USA in a very tight contest to advance to the championship game where they will face Canada. USA drops down to the third place game where they will face England.
Canada devoured England in a blowout victory in the second semifinal to advance to the championship game where they will face Iroquois. England drops down to the third place game where they will face USA.
In the fifth place bracket, Finland beat Czech Republic and Israel defeated Netherlands to set up the fifth place final between Finland and Israel on Saturday. Czech Republic and Netherlands will face each other in the seventh place final.
PLACEMENT BRACKETS
On Thursday, ninth and thirteenth place bracket semis were played to set up the finals in those brackets on Saturday. The fifteenth through twentieth place games will take place on Friday.
In the ninth place bracket semifinals, Australia defeated Ireland and Germany beat Serbia to set up a ninth place final between Australia and Germany on Saturday. Ireland and Serbia will face each other in the eleventh place game on Saturday.
Scotland defeated Slovakia and Austria beat Sweden to set up a thirteenth place final game between Scotland and Austria on Saturday. Scotland and Sweden will face each other in the fifteenth place final on Friday.
