The Colorado Mammoth have signed star goaltender Dillon Ward to a four-year contract extension.
A six-year veteran, Ward has been a cornerstone piece of the Mammoth franchise since being drafted third overall in the 2013 NLL Draft. The Orangeville, Ontario native has posted a career total of 3,526 saves, 11.213 goals against average, and a 78% save percentage in the regular season.
Ward has been a two-time NLL All-Pro selection (2016,2018) and was named to the NLL All-Pro First Team in 2017. Additionally, Ward was named to the 2014 All-Rookie Team and won the NLL’s Goaltender of The Year Award in 2017.
“Dillon is our franchise player and is not only one of the top goalies but is already one of the top players in our league. He’s only 28 years old and will only continue to get better. We couldn’t be happier to have him in a Mammoth jersey for another 4 years.” Said Assistant General Manager, Brad Self in a team release.
Ward- who played for Team Canada at the 2019 WILC in Langley, BC- looks to add to his already impressive career in 2019-20. Last season, he helped lead the Mammoth to an NLL Divisional Final appearance after upsetting Saskatchewan in the Divisional Semifinals.
