Key Games

2/8 @ Richmond

The Spiders gave the Terrapins a scare last season, scoring five consecutive goals in the fourth quarter to mount an impressive comeback. However, Maryland was able to stand their ground and secure the 10-9 win. This matchup has the potential to be a fairly close one again with all that both Maryland and Richmond bring back.

2/29 vs Notre Dame

Maryland’s first loss of 2019 came on the road against Notre Dame inside their indoor football facility. It was very much a game of runs, and two two-goal runs for Maryland in the fourth quarter helped them tie things up and send it to overtime. Brian Willetts scored the game-winner for Notre Dame in overtime.

3/14 vs Virginia

A rematch of their NCAA quarterfinal matchup last season, Maryland should get up for this game, especially considering how that quarterfinal game ended. In that meeting, Virginia got the 14-13 overtime win, going on a six-goal run in the fourth quarter and the overtime period. The Terrapins will surely want to knock off the defending champs and get revenge for last year’s season ending loss.

3/29 @ Penn State

One of the Sunday night headliners last season was the matchup between these two conference foes. Penn State won last year’s matchup 13-10 after taking an 8-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, marking Penn State’s first ever win over Maryland. With the firepower these two teams have and the storyline around this matchup after last season, y’all can bet that Maryland wants to come more ready to play than last year.
