The San Diego Seals have announced that forward Austin Staats has been moved to the active roster ahead of their game against the Colorado Mammoth tonight in Las Vegas, Nev.
Staats, the 2019 NLL Rookie of the Year and first overall pick in the 2018 NLL Draft, tallied 61 points last season (32G/29A). He ranked first amongst rookies in scoring and second in assists.
A rookie sensation last year, Staats missed the final four games of the year with an ACL injury. If he does in fact suit up and play tonight, it would be his first time in a game since that ACL injury late last season.
With Staats now available, he is expected to join Wes Berg, Connor Fields, and Zack Greer as a top scorer for the Seals. But how long it will take him to get full immersed in the offense again is still a bit up in the air.
