The Ivy League has announced that the Ivy League Council of Presidents have made an unanimous decision to cancel all spring athletics practice and competition through the remainder of the academic year.

This decision comes in the wake of the Coronavirus ( COVID-19) outbreak in North America and across the globe.

Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Yale have all had their 2020 lacrosse seasons cut short. Cornell, Princeton, and Yale are all ranked in the top five, and Penn is a top-20 ranked team. Brown and Dartmouth have also received votes in the polls this season, as well.

According to multiple reports, the Ivy League is likely to request an extra year for all spring sport athletes who’s seasons were cut short. The Ivy League has traditionally not granted fifth-year seniors/ grad students eligibility to play in any sport.
