The Patriot League has announced that the Patriot League Council of Presidents has made the decision to cancel all spring athletics practices and competitions through the remainder of the academic year due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus. This decision will go into effect on Monday, March 16th.
The Patriot League is the second DI conference to announce the cancellation of spring athletics, following the Ivy League’s decision yesterday.
College lacrosse is impacted by the Patriot League’s decision just as the sport is by the Ivy League’s. The Patriot League is the second largest DI men’s lacrosse conference and the league currently has three teams ranked in the top-20 (Army, Lehigh, Loyola).
