World Lacrosse and the Limerick Organizing Committee announced today that the World Lacrosse Men’s U19 Championships will not be played in 2020 as originally planned. The event was scheduled for July 9-18, 2020 in Limerick, Ireland.
According to a release from World Lacrosse, the decision to not play the U19 Men’s Championships was sparked by the potential health risks and uncertainty across the globe due to the COVID-19 virus.
World Lacrosse has stated that they have started a consultation process with all 20 member-National Governing Bodies that had planned to participate in the event to assess a full range of options for the Championship and that an announcement concerning the future plans for the Championship will be made in April.
