The European Lacrosse Federation (ELF) and the European Lacrosse Championships (ELC) Organizing Committee has announced that the 2020 Men’s European Lacrosse Championships will not be held in 2020 as planned due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The event was scheduled for July 23rd-August 1st in Wroclaw, Poland.
According to a release from ELF, they are starting a consultation process with their 29 member nations to discuss future plans for the Men’s European Championships.
This year’s championships would have been the 11th edition of the event and the biggest with 29 nations competing, including ELC debuts for Portugal and Ukraine.
This announcement comes just one day after World Lacrosse made the same announcement about the 2020 U19 Men’s Championships that were planned to be played in Ireland.
