Hofstra senior attackman Ryan Tierney will be returning for an extra year with the Pride in 2021, according to a release from the school.
Tierney, who is the son of Hofstra head coach Seth Tierney, has been one the the Pride’s key offensive players since he stepped foot on campus. He was named an All-CAA selection three times and was named the CAA Rookie of The Year as a freshman.
He led the Pride with 35 points (21G/14A) this past season, ranking second in the conference in points per game with 5.00.
Tierney’s decision comes just days after the Division I Council voted to grant spring sport athletes an extra year of eligibility. Tierney is also the four big name in DI to announce that he will be coming back for an extra year over the past 24 hours.
