The National Lacrosse League (NLL) has announced that the remainder of the regular season has been cancelled. This news comes in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak that prompted the league to halt their season back on March 12th.
“With three weekends left in the regular season and the uncertainty about resumption during that time, we decided it is in the best interest of our players, coaches, staff, partners and fans to remove any uncertainty. Our goal is to find the best, and safest, solution for resumption of play, but what that looks like, and when that occurs, cannot be determined today,” Said NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz in a release by the league.
While the regular season has been cancelled, league officials are examining various post-season scenarios to return to play.
