As first reported by Inside Lacrosse’s Ty Xanders, Princeton attackman Michael Sowers has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
This news comes following a report earlier today that Princeton will not allow athletes who withdraw or intend to withdraw an extra season, eliminating the option of any spring sport athlete at Princeton from withdrawing and re-enrolling next spring to preserve their final year of eligibility. Yale has reportedly made the same decision.
Sowers was the front runner for the Tewaaraton Award, which will not be given out this season, and renown as one of the best attackman in the sport.
At the time the 2020 season was cancelled, Princeton was ranked number three in the nation. Sowers tallied 47 points (16G/31A) and ranked first in DI in points per game in DI this past season. He is the all-time leading scorer at Princeton with 302 career points.
