The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) has announced that they will be postponing the start of their 2020 season due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The league announced the news on Friday afternoon.
“The health of our players, coaches, fans and colleagues are of paramount importance to us as we go through this unprecedented time.” said PLL CEO Mike Rabil in a statement
The 2020 season, which will be the second for the league, was originally scheduled to begin on May 29th at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. According to the league’s statement, an update on a new start date will be provided by the league in May.
Update 4/10 3:30pm: According to Inside Lacrosse, the league has also rescheduled its college draft for mid-may, which will be virtual and held on NBC Sports. Also, the number of rounds can flex based on the number of seniors who are in the draft.
