World Lacrosse has announced that the Men’s World Championship will be pushed back from 2022 to 2023 and will be held in Los Angeles, Calif.
This move is in response to other changes in the international sports calendar, to better accommodate athlete availability, and to ease the financial burden on member nations and their governing bodies, according to a release from World Lacrosse.
This is the second change to the upcoming World Championships, as the event was moved from Coquitlam, B.C. to Los Angeles, Calif. back in November.
The Men’s Championship is just the latest event from World Lacrosse to get pushed back a year, as the U-19 World Championships have also been moved back from their original date of 2020 to June of 2021, and made a U-20 tournament. The Men’s European Lacrosse Championships have also been moved from 2020.
