Bill Wilson and the Air Force Falcons picked up a commitment in the 2022 class on Thursday, as Ponte Vedra, Fla., goalie Nolan Parlette announced his commitment to the Falcons. He follows his older brother, Carter, who is a freshman at Notre Dame, in the route to DI lacrosse.

Parlette is the fifth commitment for the Falcons in the class, joining Gill St. Bernard’s, N.J., defenseman Connor Albertson, Farmington, Minn., faceoff man Tyler Kloeckl, St. John’s College, DC., faceoff man Blake Boyd, Creekside, Fla., attackman Mana Wilhelm, and Chaminade, N.Y., defenseman Dominic Swift.

“Air Force has always been a dream for me,” Parlette told Lacrosse Bucket.

According to Parlette, one of the biggest things about the Falcons was the culture surrounding the program and the opportunities the academy can provide. “All the guys on the team have to go through so much together, the brotherhood is unheard of. A big plus is also the careers it sets everyone up for.”

The Falcons first made contact with Parlette on June 1st, which was the first day that service academies could contact 2022 recruits, and he stated that he felt a connection right away. Parlette also said that while he has never been out to Air Force he will try and take a visit when things open up, which won’t be until 2021 following the NCAA’s decision to expand the recruiting dead period through January 1st.

Parlette has impressed since his freshman season, where he posted a 68% save percentage while helping lead Ponte Vedra the an FHSAA state title. This past spring, he helped lead the Sharks to an 8-2 record prior to the season being cut short due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

At Air Force, Parlette will join forces with SweetLax teammate Mana Wilhelm, whom he has played with since the sixth grade. “We have a great bond from playing together for so long. It’s going to be super nice knowing someone so well entering the academy,” Parlette said.

Coming into his junior season, Parlette said the main goal if his and his team is to capture another state title. “We’ve been working hard this off season and are ready to kick it off.”
