Joe Breschi and the North Carolina Tar Heels have gotten a momentum shifting commitment in the class of 2022, as Boy’s Latin, Md., attackman Dom Pietramala announced Wednesday afternoon that he would be taking his talents talents to Chapel Hill. His twin brother, Nick, announced his commitment to the Tar Heels on Monday.
Pietramala, who is ranked as the No. 2 player in the class by Inside Lacrosse, announced a final four last week that also included Denver, Penn State and Syracuse. Pietramala’s commitment comes just a few days
Sons of lacrosse legend and former Johns Hopkins head coach Dave Pietramala, the two have lacrosse in their blood and have been, somewhat, in the sport’s spotlight for multiple years now. A lefty, Dom has been an impact player for the Lakers over the past two seasons, helping to lead them to a 12-7 record as a freshman. They only got two games in this past season. Nick hasn’t been able to play this year, sitting out due to an injury since the winter.
The two are the eight and ninth commitments in the 2022 class for the Tar Heels. Dom is now the third player in the class to be rated as a five-star by Inside Lacrosse, joining Gonzaga, DC., attackman James Matan and Torrey Pines, Calif., midfielder Tayden Bultman.
