2021 Schedule Preview: Villanova Wildcats

While it has taken a bit longer for teams and conference to get their schedules together for the 2021 season due to the Coronavirus outbreak and various restrictions surrounding the virus, Schedule release schedule has finally begun!

The Villanova Wildcats are the third team to release their 2021 schedule and first from the Big East, following the conference’s announcement about spring sports Tuesday morning. The Wildcats come into the 2021 season following a shortened 2020 season in which they went 4-3.

  • All but two contests are conference games.
  • Two games, home and away, against every Big East opponent.

Games to Circle

2/13: @ Delaware: One of two non-conference games on the Wildcats’ schedule this season, the Wildcats will open up with the Delaware Blue Hens. Villanova holds a 12-7 series lead and has won the past three contests, which includes a 19-10 victory last season. Keegan Khan (2G/5A) and Matt Campbell (4G/2A) led the way with seen and six points each in the win. Delaware’s last victory over Villanova came in 2017 in a 13-10 contest.

2/20 & 3/27 vs/@ Georgetown: Villanova opens conference play at home against a very strong Georgetown squad who went undefeated last season. They will also face them in late March on the road. The Wildcats fell to the Hoyas, 16-13, last time they faced each other in 2019. Villanova hasn’t beaten Georgetown since 2017.

3/21 & 4/10 vs/@ Denver: The Wildcats play the Pioneers at home in March and on the road in April. The two squads have had a great series going over the past few seasons. In 2019, Villanova won the regular season matchup, 12-11, and Denver won the conference tournament meeting, 17-11.
